He was predeceased by: his parents, Malcom McGillivray and Elizabeth McGillivray (Copithorne); and his brother Wallace McGillivray (Patricia). He is survived by: his children, Brent McGillivray and Kelly McGillivray; his grandchildren, Zachary, Rylie, Joshua and Taylor; and his siblings, Robert Crites (Lillian) and Carole Crites (Donald). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
