He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob and Jantina; and his brother Johannes. He is survived by: his spouse Hennie; his sons, James (Adrienne), Derek (JooYun) and Gerrit (Shadan); his grandchildren, Owen, Ayden, Noah, Emmalene and Arvin; and his sibling Pieternella Sandrock (Walter).
