He is survived by: his wife Regina Walter (Mueller); his children, Ingrid Walter (Tim Shepherd) and Erika Walter (Scott Dunn); his grandchildren, Caroline, Tess and Ellen; his brother Dietmar Sauer; and also Gerda Voit.
