He was predeceased by: his daughter Angel; and his parents, Ernest Gatien and Barbara Cooper. He is survived by: his close friend Helen Derouchie; his spouse Dale Trepanier; his children, Nathaniel Gatien and Xaviea Wiggins; his stepchildren, Adam, Tyler, Kelsey and Megan; his son Barry Duhamel; his grandchildren, Cayleb, Haevan, Bentley, Gage, Story and Dakota; his stepgrandchildren, Aurora, Rider and Lydia; and his sisters, Wendy Gatien and Tammy Gatien.

As expressions of sympathy donations to the Canadian Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
