She was predeceased by: her parents, Bazel Blanchard and Glenys Blanchard. She is survived by: her husband Robert Silmser; her son Derek Silmser (Linda); and her siblings, Lynn Bergeron (Lynn) and Helen Donihee.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
