He was predeceased by: his parents, Austin Strathern and Jean Strathern (Lusk); his former wife Ann Dobson; and his siblings, Ken, Colleen and Rita.

He is survived by: his close friend Kathy Ladouceur (Hirst); his children, Ron Strathern (Deb) and Wendy Da Ros (Anthony); his stepchildren, Jamie Ladouceur (Farrah) and Matthew Michaud (Ashlee); and his grandchildren, Joey, Alex, Anna, Amanda, Adam, Hudson, Gabrielle, Rowan and Bentley.
