Arcade Brunet Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we mourn the peaceful passing of Arcade Brunet (Art) of Lancaster on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the age of 94 years.

Beloved husband for 72 years of Fleurette Brunet (née Pitre). Loving father of Elaine Lalonde (Philippe), Jeannette Sanche (Paul), René Brunet (Faye), Denise Quesnel (Pierre). Cherished grand father (pépère) of Derick Lalonde (Kerry), Nicole Poitras (Jeremy), Joël Sanche (France), Teal Markell (Alex), Devin Brunet (Laura), Zoée Brunet (Kevin), Adèle Hickman (Ian), Vincent Quesnel (Tara). Proud great grandfather of Arthur and Estelle Lalonde, Noah and Liam Poitras, Axel, Lennox and Nixon Markell, Brayden, Cohen, and Ashton Hickman, Pillar and Eller Quesnel. Survived by brother Jim Brunet (Pauline Secours), and sister Lyette Ladouceur (late Roger). He will be dearly missed by sister-in-law Theresa Pitre and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by his parents Euclide and Éliana (Campeau) Brunet and by his siblings Gerard Brunet, Zenor Brunet, Marie Godard, and Gloria Blanchard.

Art was a man of many passions including construction, hunting, fishing, golf, travel, gardening, playing cards, friends, and family. His greatest pleasures were spending time with his family every Sunday and holding or giving a bottle to the newest member of the family. He had a heart of gold and shared his love of life with everyone.

As per Art's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation services entrusted to M. John Sullivan Funeral Home 341 Pitt Street (across from city hall) Cornwall. Interment, Notre Dame Cemetery at a later date.
