She was predeceased by: her son Michael; and her siblings, Maurice, Wally and Pauline Simms. She is survived by: her husband Jack Patterson; her children, Pat (Monica), Tim, Todd (Jan) and Tamaria; her grandchildren, Andrew Mac (Jen), Graeme Patterson (Meghan), Jenna Leal (Colin), Katie Harrison (Joshua), Megan Shepley (Jeff), Kylie Piitz and Naomi Wheatley; and her sister Sharon Sheffer (late George). She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Arthritis Society in memory of Marlene.
