He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelis Nell and Hendrika Nell (Soede); his siblings, Pieter, Cornelis and Joan Schoenmaker; his sister-in-law Lynda Lane; and his daughter-in-law Tay Nell.
He is survived by: his wife Carole Hughes; his sons, Kirk, Greg (Bonnie) and Brent (Lisa); his grandchildren, Emma, Jack and Oliver; and his siblings, Reta McCort (JD), Agnes Bregman, Corrie Davis (Randy) and Peter Nell (Elaine).
