He was predeceased by: his father John Schinker; and his stepfather Gustav Kovacs. He is survived by: his son Joshua Schinker (Sarah); his grandson Austin Hans Edward Schinker; his sisters, Rita Rolley, Veronica Schinker, Sylvia Schinker and Sylvia Kovacs; his nieces and nephews, Natasha Schinker, Shannon Rolley, Melanie Skrypec (Steven), Tyler Rolley (Lisa), Ashley Barnard (Daniel) and Hailey Authier; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Cyris, Tiana Rolley-Fex, Taylor, Samuel Skrypec, Ava, Ella Barnard and Hunter Rolley; his close friend Debi Ward; and also Ilse Kovacs.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Princess Margaret Hospital Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
