She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Slav Kunicki; her children, John Hobden (Susan) and Laurie Bowman (Doug); her stepdaughters, Isabelle (Uwe) and Lydia (Rob); her grandchildren, Connor, Shawn, Stephanie, Claire, Grace, Sophie and Lexi; her great grandchildren, Hannah, Emily, Hector, Monroe and Josh; her parents, Albert Edward and Greta Doreen Simmons; and her brothers, Ted (Bernice), Harry Simmons (Lillian) and Richard.
In lieu of flowers donations in Doreen's memory may be made to Hospice Georgian Triangle – Campbell House.
