She was predeceased by: her parents, Neil Gillies and Elva Gillies; and her siblings, Rodger (Nancy), Neil, Irene Habgood (John) and Betty MacMurchy (Don).
She is survived by: her husband Donald Kolkea; her children, Sandra Stewart (Paul Hewitt) and Trevor Kolkea (Liz Hill); her grandchildren, Shawn Stewart (Nicole), Ryan Stewart (Alexis Leigh), Shelly Stewart (Dustin Coulter), Oliver and Zoe Kolkea; her sister Verna Murray; and her sister-in-law Karen Gillies. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Elizabeth Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Bernice's memory. Donations are being accepted for: SAINT ELIZABETH HEALTH CARE HEART STROKE FOUNDATION ONTARIO (HEART AND STROKE FOUNDATION OF ONTARIO).
