Stephen Pashagumskum Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Stephen Pashagumskum (Cobourg, Ontario), who passed away on June 15, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, David Pashagumskum and Daisy House; and his siblings, Simeon and Mina. He is survived by: his wife Marsha Smoke Pashagumskum; his children, Gillian Pashagumskum Smoke (Terrance Richard), Sarah Pashagumskum (Brian Dioszeghy), Jamie Pashagumskum (Marlene Jolly), Brandon Happyjack Smoke and Lindsay Happyjack Smoke (Jeremy Limpy); his grandchildren, Raven, Kara, Michaela, Jacob, Noah, Aidan, Amelia, Cameron, Kerwin and Leah; his great grandchildren, Sage and Amiyah; and his siblings, Eddie, Molly and John. He is also survived by brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

Donations in Stephen Pashagumskum's memory may be made to the Dibaajimowin Cultural Centre where he devoted much of his time in his retirement years sharing stories of the land, culture, traditional way of life and experiences of Indian Residential Schools.
