He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Ilda Avelar; his children, Anthony Joseph Avelar (Josie) and Maria Christina Avelar (Sergio Deponte); his grandchildren, Jacob, Isabella and Lucas; and his brothers, Joe Avelar (Larinda) and Manuel Avelar (Goretti).

A funeral mass will be held at St. Michael's Church, Cobourg on Thursday August 5th at 2 pm (Everyone must wear a mask and social distance for both events).
