He was predeceased by: his former wife Tannie; his daughter Gabriella; and his siblings, Henk, Joost, Hans, Ineke and Christientje.

He is survived by: his wife Janny; his children, Rene, Evelyn Batelaan, Erin, Adam, Daniel, Julisa, Joel (Jessica), Gina, Jillian, Matt, Ben, Maria, John, Olivia and Faith; and his sister Machleen.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service is planned.
