He was predeceased by: his significant other Réjean Roy. He is survived by: his parents, Kenneth and Linda; and his siblings, Deborah (Brian Stanley) of Cloyne, ON., Robert of Cloyne, ON., Dee-Ann of Cloyne, ON. and Derrick of Cloyne, ON..

He recognized the importance of preserving local history as seen by his numerous contributions to the Cloyne and District Historical Society throughout his life. In lieu of flowers, the family believes Stephen would have liked donations to either the Canadian Humane Society and/or the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research in his name.
