He was predeceased by: his former wife Barbara Hymers (Layton); his parents, Mike Hymers and Dorothy Hymers; his stepfather Elmer Frey; his siblings, Murray Hymers and Beatrice Johnston; his parents-in-law, Ed, Dorothy Layton, Logan and Ilene Cleave; and his brothers-in-law, Doug Layton, Wayne Layton, Rick Jeffrey, Glenn Cleave and Allan Brokenshire.

He is survived by: his wife Joy Hymers (Cleave); his children, Brenda MacIsaac of Clinton, Brad of Clinton and Darlene Hymers of Clinton; his grandchildren, Amelia MacIsaac (Jesse), Gregory MacIsaac, Brittany Hymers-Dalrymple (Craig), Courtney Hymers (Jade) and Carson Hymers; his sister Mary Ann; and his parents-in-law, Shirley, Eugene O'Brien, Jack Cleave, Nancy Cleave, Sharon Brokenshire, Dianne Jeffrey and Allan Hohner.
