Mary Roseanne (Sterling) Handley Obituary
Mary Roseanne Handley, in her 81st year, passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer at Huron Hospice Bender House on February 27, 2024, with family by her side.
Mary was born December 22, 1943, to Anthony and Helena Sterling in Chatham, Ontario. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Edward Sterling.
Mary was married to Wayne Handley on April 11, 1998. Mary had two children from her previous marriage, Steve (Donna) Proud, and Kim (Ron) Watterworth. Mary embraced Wayne's children, Jackie (Terry) Grimes, Cindy (Reagan) Unrau, Jeana (Rob) Pharand, and Todd (Tonya) Handley, as her own. She was loved by eleven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Mary was a Registered Nursing Assistant who worked at St. Thomas Elgin General from 1980-2000 when she retired. After retirement, she carried on her duties of nursing by supporting a family member at Fanshawe College.
In accordance with Mary's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday April 20, 204 from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Falconer Funeral Home, 153 High St., Clinton, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Huron Hospice Bender House, Clinton.
