He was predeceased by: his parents, Jantina Hofstra-Jagt and Bouke Jagt; and his sister Alberdina Jagt. He is survived by: his significant other Patricia Thompson; his children, Melissa, Ian Hymers of Clifford, Jonathan, Karen Thompson of Orangeville, Jeremy, Melanie Thompson of West Montrose and Richard Engel of Elmwood; his great grandchild Eastyn Hymers; and his siblings, Jackie DeJong (Ken Rae), Janet (Alex Van Niekerk), Albert (Willeke Jagt) and Teresa (Dirk Dekker).
