He was loved and cherished by many people including: his child Kylee Kalte-McDonald of Port Elgin; his stepson Dominic; his parents, Faye McDonald and Wayne Copland of Harriston; his siblings, Cindy, Shawn Small of Mount Forest, Cory, Lisa McDonald of Ayton, Carmy McDonald and Ron Filsinger of Clifford; and also Jennifer Kalte. He was also cherished by his aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Memorial donations to Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated, and may be made through the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston.
