She is survived by: her son David of Guelph; her niece Dianne McVicar (Don); her nephews, Jim Murphy (Beth), Robert Murphy (Ruth) and Jack Murphy (Ruth); her friend Mitzy; her brother Ken; her parents, Gladstone Murphy and Ethel Murphy; and also, Robert Murphy and Northern Ireland.

In lieu of flowers, donations to World Vision would be appreciated, a charity that Gene supported for most of her life.
