It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thelma Merkley (Chesterville, Ontario), who passed away on July 29, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Lyle Merkley; her son Dr. Burton Merkley (Susann) of Ottawa; her parents, Fay Droppo and Mae Droppo; her brother Garnet Droppo; and her siblings-in-law, Vera Smith, Dorothy Price, Emma Hess, Lois McGaughey, Audrey Casselman, Maxine Feeley, Joan Beckstead, Walter, Erwin, Clifton, Lee, Carl and Dean Merkley.
She is survived by: her daughter Marlene Kelly (Mike) of Chesterville; her grandchildren, Aaron Kelly (Cass), Devin Kelly, Benjamin Merkley (Veronique), Matthew Merkley (Jocelyn), Rebecca Bisson (Mathieu) and Sarah Merkley; her great grandchildren, Camden, Reece Kelly, Gabrielle, Caleb, Sophie, William, Tristan Merkley, Olivia and Zachary Bisson; and her siblings-in-law, Doe Dube of Long Sault and Lorna Bolster (late Otty) of Brushton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
