She was predeceased by: her son Craig; her husband Howard; her parents, Hector Carruthers Sr. and Ellen (Coulthart); and her siblings, Elizabeth McColl, Archie and Ford.
She is survived by: her children, Gay (Robert Hawthorne) of Edmonton, James (Lynn Merkley) of St. Catharines and Neil (Cheryl Byers) of Crysler; her grandchildren, Linda Klassen (Vaughn), David Barkley (Nichelle Hynbida), Julie Sinner (Lee), Tracy Robertson (Mark), Alison McGregor (Andrew), Kayla Irven (Nadia Bouslama), Todd Irven, Cara Irven (Etienne Forgues), Wesley Irven (Jennifer Extence) and Wyatt Irven (Jessica McLeod); and her great grandchildren, Brett, Zach Klassen, Tyler Barkley, Chloe, Paige Sinner, Calum, Toran Robertson, Rachel, Rayne McGregor, Bella and Adele Forgues.
