He was predeceased by: his niece Ashley Sampson; his nephew Matthew Sampson; and his parents, Jean Thomson (Robertson) and Robert Thomson. He is survived by: his sister Margaret Elizabeth; his half-brother Tim Thomson; his significant other Carol Ann Hudson; his siblings, Deborah Sampson of Hanover, Margaret Bailey of Brampton and Timothy Thomson of Brampton; his nieces and nephews, Jodie Sampson (Don Wilson), Jordan Sampson, Jeanette Bailey and Jeffery Ellis; his great-nephew Wallace; and his great-niece Saoirse.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to The Women's Centre Grey-Bruce Inc. would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
