Jan Winkels Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jan Winkels of Chesley, Ontario, who passed away on February 20, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jan Winkels to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his children, Ruby Brouwer and Gerald Winkels; his children-in-law, Gerda Winkels and Tony Brouwer; his grandson Jared Brouwer; his siblings, Hendrick, Margje Wobben and Jentje Boesenkool; and his parents, Lucas Winkels and Ruby Winkels (Timmerman).
He is survived by: his spouse Henderientje "Doreen" (Schuit); his children, Luke of Burgessville, Elizabeth Nypiuk (Amal) of Annan, Henry (Christina), Doreen Zehr (Peter) of Wiarton, John (Karen) of Chesley and Evert (JoAnne) of Brantford; his sibling Aaltje Kuiper; and his sisters-in-law, Bertha Looyenga, Jannie Schuit and Jenny Bouman (Hank). He is also survived by his 32 grandchildren, 100 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Rhody Family Funeral Home (65 4th St SW, Chesley, ON N0G 1L0). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Ebenezer Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland, Chesley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Ebenezer Free Presbyterian Church or Trinitarian Bible Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
