He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Atkinson and Ella Atkinson; and his siblings, Alma Purdon (John) and Muriel Crowe (Sid). He is survived by: his wife Alein Atkinson; his children, Deborah MacArthur Hergert (Brian) of Barrie, Jim Atkinson (Debbie) of Chatsworth and Denise Simpson (Steve) of Owen Sound; his grandchildren, Kristianna, Trevor, Jason, Cindy and Samantha; and his great grandchildren, Vrindavani, Chanelle, Mya, Benson, Autumn and Sierra.
Donations to the Cancer Society , or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
