He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward McCarthy and Dorothy McCarthy; his sister Bernadette Collins (Lorne); his granddaughter Amber Lyall-Ashby; and his son Aaron Bruce McCarthy.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Elizabeth McCarthy; his children, Mark McCarthy of Holland Centre, Glenn McCarthy (Anne) of Chatsworth and Lori Anne Wendling (Dave) of Ottawa; his grandchildren, Luke, Colin, Taylor, Curtis, Kelly, Hailey, Cole and Rachel; his great grandchildren, Sawyer, Adeliene, Elleah, Titus and Audrey; and his sister Jane Jackson (George) of Alliston.
