He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Barnes and Doris Barnes. He is survived by: his wife Sandra; his son Jason (Nikki) of Toronto; his granddaughters, Natalie and Jessica; and his siblings, Betty Harmsworth (Dennis), Darlene Clark (Don), Jerry (Barb Barnes), Doug (Linda Barnes), Eugene (Barb Barnes) and Lois Shaw (Doug). He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all attendees as mandated by the Bereavement Authority of Ontario must wear a mask at the funeral.
