We are sad to announce that on November 24, 2024, Robert Vellinga (Chatham, Ontario) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his siblings, Jake (Barbara), Harry, Harry J (Eleanor), Paul, Betty, Henry (Marlene), Raymond (Gail) and Herman.
He is survived by: his spouse Willy Vellinga (Vandendool); his children, Annette Vanderzwan (Ken), Robert Vellinga (Caroline), Jeanette Armitage (Jeff) and Janice Moyer (Dean); his grandchildren, Evan Vanderzwan (Sandra), Noah Vanderzwan, Lauren Vanderzwan, Eden Lorish (Mat), Sean Vellinga, Caleb Armitage, Cole Armitage, Jackson Armitage, Nate Armitage, Claire Armitage, Owen Moyer, Jonah Moyer, Carter Moyer and Davis Moyer; his siblings, Martha Bosveld (late John) and John Vellinga (Margaret); his siblings-in-law, Sandy Vellinga and Fran Vellinga; and also, Vanderdool and Harrison Vanderzwan.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home (245 Wellington St W, Chatham, ON N7M1J9). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Gregory Drive Alliance Church (255 Gregory Dr W, Chatham, ON N7M5J7).
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bob may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choosing would be appreciated.
