He was predeceased by: his parents, Vern Smith and Victoria Smith; his wife Sandra; his children, Angela Marie Smith and Michael James Smith; and his sister Brenda Travis.
He is survived by: his children, Carrie Allely of Chatham and Darren Smith (Kari Badder) of Chatham; and his grandsons, Ryan, Corey, Ben, Austin and Drew.
