She was predeceased by: her parents, Garnet Cook and Marion Cook (Lambkin); her husband Cecil Burnett; her grandchildren, Joe Burnett, Melissa Burnett, Alisha Burnett and Sarah Washington; and her siblings, Gerald, James Cook and Eleanor Brown.

She is survived by: her children, Serita Washington (Johnny), Wendy Chambers (Warren), Elizabeth Spencer (Roy), Carrie Burnett (James Kerr), Randy Burnett (Judy Smith) and Greg Burnett; her siblings, Virginia Travis (Wayne), Jarvis Cook (Janet), Thelma Cook, Ivy Johnson and Herb Burnett (Bob Brown); and her grandson Joey. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
