He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Kenneth Bishop and Spray Bishop; his wife Marie Claire Vinter-Bishop; his stepchildren, Carol Ann LaPointe (late John LaPointe), Giselle Vinter, Daniel Vinter and Stephanie Homenick; his grandchildren, Eric, Amanda (Geoff), Kayleigh (Keith), Cori (Chris) and Marshall; and his siblings, Lyle, Leslie, Lynn and Laurie.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lawrence's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Children's Hospital in London.
