John Saunders Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Saunders (Chatham, Ontario), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 4, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Saunders and Sarah Saunders; and his siblings, Eileen Raines (Doug), Bob Saunders (Doreen), June Mason (Allan), Helen Bryan (Murray), Jim Saunders, Lois Grantham (Tom), Bill Saunders and Marilyn Baverstock.
He is survived by: his wife Jean; his children, Debbie Colquhoun, Becky (Chris Olivastri), Kathy (Jamie Malott) and Dan (Jenny Saunders); his son-in-law Ian Colquhoun; his grandchildren, Maggie Colquhoun (Steven Scott), Mary Beth Colquhoun (Josh Dwyer), Alex, Spencer Olivastri, Peter Olivastri (Ericka), Nathan Malott, Matthew Malott (Olivia Eskritt), Emily, Sarah Saunders, Ashton, Elliott Scott and Baby Olivastri; his sister Thelma Baverstock (late Delbert); and his siblings-in-law, Rita Saunders, Marg Saunders and Melvin Baverstock. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home (245 Wellington St W, Chatham, ON N7M1J9). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
