She was predeceased by: her parents, Willem Buist and Dieuwke Buist (Aalfs); and her sisters, Rens Renkema and Jantje DeHaan (late Sietse). She is survived by: her spouse Talo Tamminga; her children, Talo (Dineke), Bill (Marian), Jake (Lorraine) and Rene; her great grandchildren, Eden, Jordynn, Bria, Jude, Keira, Blair, Maverick, Faith and Benjamin; and her siblings, Hillie Meijer (late Henk), Tine Mulder (late Ake) and Rien Geertsema (Marten).
