Jean Hoekstra Obituary

The memory of Jean Hoekstra of Chatham, Ontario, who passed away on January 10, 2025 at the age of 91, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her siblings, Harry (Jenny), Andrew (Margaret), Ted (Tina), Betty Vroom (Bill), Jeep, Martha Sonneveld (Ben), Edward and Joe (Susie Postma).

She is survived by: her husband Jack Hoekstra; her children, Betty Herman, Paul (Teresa) and Rob (Helen); her grandchildren, Jessica (Brian), Owen (Leslie), Evan, Sharon (Dave), Dan (Lindsay), Matt (Andrea), Kate (Alain), Joey (Christina) and Rachel (Taylor); her siblings, Mary DeVries (Herman), Tina Okkema (Harry), Liz Dragstra (John), Arnold (Margaret) and Rusty (Bea); her siblings-in-law, Janet and Henk Postma; her in-laws, Grace, Albert Mast, Tina Verburg, Sarah, Henry Regts, Harry, Yvonne, Judy Vandendool and Janet Buck; her friend Suze Mast; and also, Adrian Verburg, Jean, Andy Roorda, Effie, Elbert Forsten, Bert Vandendool and Wayne Buck.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the First Christian Reformed Church (25 Tweedsmuir Ave E, Chatham, ON N7M3Z6). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at the Maple Leaf Cemetery (55 Maple Leaf Dr, Chatham, ON N7M).
