He was predeceased by: his parents, James Mead and Sarah Mead; his sister Doris Marsh (England); his parent-in-law Beverly Bedford of Chatham; and his sister-in-law Cindy.

He is survived by: his wife Catherine Mead (Cathy); his children, Lisa Mead, Stuart Mead (Jacqui) and Jessica Mead (Chatham); his great grandchildren, Maisie of England, Harry of England and Phoebe of England; his siblings, Eddie Mead (England), Jayne Travis (England) and Peter Mead (England); his father-in-law James A.; and his siblings-in-law, Patrick Burton (Ridgetown), Carolann, Gerry Passingham (Sarnia), Chris, Kevin Shaw (Chatham) and Jamie Bedford (Chatham). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces, great nephews.
