With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Parkyn of Chatham, Ontario, who passed away on January 15, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Parkyn and Doris Parkyn (Orton) of Chatham, ON.; his parents-in-law, Richard and Josephine Moore (Deneau) of Chatham, ON.; his wife Eleanor Emma Parkyn (Moore) of Chatham, ON.; his great grandchild Joshua Bester; his siblings, June (Floyd Squires), Joyce (Neil Huckle), Edgar Allen Parkyn of Chatham, ON. and William Abbott of Calgary, AB.; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley, Gerald Rankin of Flint, Michigan., Robert, Mary Moore of Chatham, ON., Elmer, Marney Moore of Chatham, ON. and Betty Jean Moore of Chatham, ON..
He is survived by: his children, Victoria Bechard (Parkyn), Chuck DeHaw of Chatham, ON, Lynn Parkyn-Turner and Ian Turner of Okotoks, AB.; his grandchildren, Melissa Bester of Wallaceburg, ON and Kristapher Bester of Kirkland Lake, ON.; his great grandchild Ethan Bester of Ridgetown, ON.; his sisters, Patsy (William Peltier) and Gloria; and his brother-in-law Patrick. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Kendrick Funeral Home - Chatham (4 Victoria Ave, Chatham, ON N7L2Z6). A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Imperial Club (22 Payne St, Chatham, ON N7M4M9).
