He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Ernst and Sipke Nydam; his wife Frances; and his son Albert Horneman. He is survived by: his brother Gerben; his children, Wendy, Ernie, Sheri, Ron, Peggy, Ken, Eloise, Greg and Carrie; his grandchildren, Emily, Martin, Erica, Joel, Rebecca, David, Heather, Steven, Nolan, Dan (Chaelen Crew), Ben, Katrina, Nicole (Jason Jenkins), Chris, Feleecia (Wes Nelson) and Ian; his great grandchildren, Xander, Briella, Jaxon and Wil; his siblings, Ida DiVincenzo of Hamilton, Lies Nijdam of Holland, Annie Knibbe of Holland, Renny of Holland and Dick Ernsting of Holland; and his siblings-in-law, Coba Nydam, Wilma Kramer of Chatham, Pete, Audrey Hoekstra of Brampton, Art and Margo Hoekstra of Guelph.
