He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Nicholson and Carman Nicholson; his spouse Shirley; and his siblings, Francis Nicholson, Ida Trimble, Doris Jones, Stanley Nicholson and Inez Shaw.

He is survived by: his children, Rod (Jan) of Port Stanley, Wendy Pretty (Al) of Port Stanley, Nancy Chung of Chatham, Richard (Carole) of Pender Island, B. C., Karen Nichol (John) of Blenheim and Mike (Lori) of Chatham; and his siblings, Clarence and Betty Nicholson of Chatham. He is also survived by his fourteen grandchildren, and twenty-four great grandchildren.
