He was predeceased by: his mother Kathleen Smith of Tuberculosis; his brother Sherman; and his child Gerriann Deborah (James). He is survived by: his children, Barry (Sue) and Laurie (Darren). He is also survived by grandparents and aunts and uncles until Dad.
