She was predeceased by: her husband Sid Veenstra; her son Ken Veenstra (Cathy); and her parents, Joseph Kendall and Violet Kendall. She is survived by: her son Ron (Tara); her daughter-in-law Cathy (Ken); her grandchildren, Kristin (Dan Roach), Joe, Tom and Nick; and her great grandchild Wilfrid Roach. She is also survived by loving extended family and exceptional close friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Chatham Kent Hospice in honour of Gloria Veenstra's memory.
