He was predeceased by: his brother Murray; his parents, Charles and Olive; and his father-in-law Edward Edwards. He is survived by: his wife Janet; his children, Melissa Carrier (Chris), William "Bill" (Amy) and Charles "Charlie" (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Trevor, Tyler, Ethan, Elizabeth, Ava, Eddie and Savannah; his mother-in-law Elaine; and his siblings-in-law, Eddie Edwards, Diane Hummel (Peter) and Kathy McKenty (Jim). He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Prior to Covid, he was an avid trap shooter at Kent Clover Leaf and the St. Thomas Gun Club.
