He is survived by: his wife Bessie (Vsetula); his children, Alan (Margie) of Chatham and Pam Lacek (Benn) of Chatham; his grandchildren, Sarah (Dan), Jim (Hillary), Jane (Matt), Dan (Kate) and Samantha (Tristan); his siblings, John VanOirschot (Helen), Helma Noland and Bill Van Oirschot; his sisters-in-law, Mary, Denise and Natalie; his pal Rusty; and his pet Frank.
He enjoyed volunteering and donating to several local charities.
