He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Bellinger and Doreen Bellinger; and his significant other Fay Raine. He is survived by: his children, Melissa and Scott Smith of Traverse City, MI.; his grandchildren, Grace, Caleb, Elizabeth, Ethan, Abigail and Samuel Smith; his stepchildren, Kevin Tebbutt, Carolyn Agla and Christine Taylor; and his siblings, Donna (Chuck Whaling), Susan (Gene Gray), Anne (Mark Ottaway) and Paul (Vickie Bellinger). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
