He was predeceased by: his former wife Maize Fischer; his grandson John Blimkie; his siblings, Sydney (Iona) and Blanche Baker (Karl); and his parents, Louise Blimkie (Vollrath) and Joseph Blimkie.

He is survived by: his wife Mildred (Behnke); his sons, Kevin (Joan) of Deep River, Michael (Brenda) of Chalk River and Brian (late Connie) of Petawawa; his stepchildren, Mona, Rick and Joyce; his grandchildren, Melissa Blimkie, Melinda Blimkie (A. J. Worden), Mitchell Blimkie (Melanie), Kristin (Chris Leitch), Wesley Blimkie and Jaclyn Blimkie; his great grandchildren, Rowan, Dylan Leitch, Macy and Alexa Greene; and his sister Pearl Turcotte (late Lloyd) of Renfrew.
