He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Frederick Porteous and Iva Annetta Lillian Porteous. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn; his daughters, Deborah Borotsik (Craig) and Tracy Adams (Greg); his grandchildren, Zachary (Lyndsay), Spencer (Mirela), Katie (Troy), Nicky (Michael) and Hannah; and his great grandchild Beau.
