It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Wolfgang Otto Wilhelm Friesen of Carlisle, Ontario, who passed away on April 7, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his siblings, Renate Ruhland (Klaus) and Udo Friesen (Hildegard). He is survived by: his wife Erika; his children, Ruth Reid (Stephen), Paul (Sharon) and Anne Friesen; his grandchildren, Mitchell, Patrick (Sarah), Erik, Meagan, Philip and Wolfgang; his great grandchild Jackson; and his siblings, Ekkehard (Inge), Peter (Ute) and Hans.

“Please accept my condolences and sympathy for the passing of Wolfgang. My fond memories best include his time fishing the waters of Georgian Bay with a bunch of kids in the front. It was the early sixties and he would give rides and go fishing with us sometimes in his homemade boat. He was well known to be an avid fisherman then, even though he never ate fish. To us he was a man we could aspire to be: upright , strong and confident.”
