He was predeceased by: his wife Ethel; his brothers, Kelvin (Helen), Archie (Betty), Leslie (Lea) and Donald (Fran); and his cousin Mary.

He is survived by: his close friend Edith Ford; his children, Brian Rintoul (Cora), Margaret Lewis (James), Glenn Rintoul (Kerri) and Jane Veninga (Albert); his grandchildren, Nick, Jessica, Monica Rintoul, Willie (Katie), Liz, Charlie Lewis, Jenna Rintoul (Cody), Chelsea Rath (Travis), Bobby Raycroft (Lindsay), Ryan and Joey Veninga (Caitlin); his great grandchildren, Nevyn, Rosalynn and Wesley; his siblings, Elsie (late Bill), Laurie (Eleanor) and Ruth (Guy); and his cousins, Jim (Marcia) and Betty (Steve).
