He was predeceased by: his wife Brenda; and his parents, Vernal and Edna. He is survived by: his close friend Paula; his children, Katherine, Gary, Wayne Jr. (Tina) and Tammy (James); his brother Stephen (Leisa); and his friend Ross Haggerty.
