She was predeceased by: her former husband Allen Chapman; her husband Arthur Hawkins; her parents, Norman Crawford and Nellie Crawford; her grandson Matthew McNeely; and her siblings, Earl, Gerald Crawford (Lila), Laura Mahoney (Joseph) and Alice Teske (Urban).

She is survived by: her children, Brenda McNeely (David) and David Chapman (Wilma); her grandchildren, Heather McNeely (Brian van Adel) and Jeffery Chapman (Rachel); her great grandchildren, Ethan and Ella van Adel; and her sister-in-law Patricia Crawford.

Donations in memory of Vera to Lanark Animal Welfare Society or the Zion-Memorial United Church would be appreciated by the family.
